24th. April, 2014
The general public is invited to apply for Fellowships to implement innovative social enterprise business programmes in Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda and Sierra Leone.
The fellowships, which are part of the FORTY – FELLOWS Programme, seek to encourage innovations in developing market-based approaches to address Food Insecurity, Conflict and Poverty in the four countries where the Tony Blair Foundation has a strong presence
Sponsored by the Howard G. Buffet Foundation, in collaboration with the African Governance Institute and the World Food Prize Foundation, the fellowships will empower four individuals, by providing one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) each, to cover start-up funds and living expenses for one year to help launch innovative business ideas.
The Applications are open to Social Entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, under the age of forty (40) years for any one of the four fellowships until May 31, 2014, and winners will be selected by a blue ribbon panel of judges and announced in October, 2014 at the World Food Prize dialogue in Iowa, USA.
Additional information about the 40 – Chances programme and applying for the fellowships can be obtained from the website: http//www.40Chances.com/Fellows or channel all enquiries to the Private Sector Adviser, Office of the President, State House, sogiethomas@yahoo.com
